Your Guide to Email Marketing

List building combined with email marketing has become a compelling way to make money online. Many top affiliate marketers and product creators make money with email marketing.

Two main contributors to being successful with email marketing are the size of your email list and how targeted your email list subscribers are. Email lists are also great for driving traffic to your website. To succeed with net marketing, you should have fantastic know-how in electronic mail marketing.

What is email list building?

Before we get too deep into things, let’s discuss what an email list is and what email list building is. An email list is a group of individuals, also known as subscribers, who have subscribed to receive emails from you. It is usually done through an opt-in form or a sign-up form to subscribe to your email list.

People who visit your website and enjoy your content will receive your email sign-up form. You may offer a free value giveaway to individuals who sign up for your mailing list. At this point, they would fill in their information to become subscribers.

Once they have signed up to your opt-in form, they will receive a confirmation email that they must visit the link of an order to confirm their subscription. It is a security feature provided by most email marketing software providers to ensure someone did sign up for your email list.

As an email marketer, this is good for you and the subscribers of your list. Once they have confirmed their subscription, they can start receiving emails from you and retrieve their gift for signing up to your email list if you offered one.

You can email them things such as updates about your website, tips, thoughts you share with them to establish relationships, affiliate product offers, products of your own, or a link to your most recent or past blog posts.

Email Marketing Software

To have a mailing list, you will need an email list provider. Email List providers such as Aweber provide software that makes it easy to do all the necessary tasks to run a successful email list and marketing campaigns. You certainly don’t want to maintain and operate your email list manually.

If you were to manage your email list manually, you would have to do the following:

  • Create your sign-up forms
  • Manually track sign-ups and unsubscribes
  • Manually create your inventory inside your email
  • Find alternative ways to track clicks on your emails and do many more tedious tasks.

There are many options out there for email marketing software. However, I will give you two recommendations, one of which is free.
The first option is MailChimp.

The great thing about MailChimp is that you can sign up for a free account, which will remain accessible until you reach a certain number of subscribers. With MailChimp, you can upgrade later to a bigger plan or one with more functionality.

The second option is Aweber. It is the industry standard for email marketing and maintaining an email list. Many top bloggers and Internet marketers highly recommend Aweber as it is a superior service to almost all other email marketing software. I use Aweber, which has many benefits over other services I have tried.

My two favourite features of Aweber are the user interface and the templates for creating subscription forms. AWeber is the most excellent user interface to manage your email list.

Everything is laid out nicely, and it’s easy to understand how to set everything up and start your email campaigns. They even have a set-up wizard that walks you through the beginning steps and plenty of tutorials on their website if you get lost.

If you want to go top-of-the-line and get the industry standard, then start with Aweber. MailChimp is good if you’re unsure and enjoy a free option.
One thing that’s very important to point out is that it’s hard to transfer your subscriber list from one provider to another.

So if you decide to start with another provider and transfer later, you may lose a lot of subscribers in the process. So ensure you get what you need upfront, so you don’t experience this.
